Grammar and style

Overview

Created in partnership with stakeholders across the company, our Style Guide for Writers outlines Kyndryl’s official editorial standards. Used alongside our brand voice guidance, it helps to ensure that our written content feels consistent, distinctive and unified, no matter who the author is.

What to expect

At Kyndryl, we defer to the Associated Press Stylebook for most grammar and written style specifics. However, our dedicated style and usage guide covers a number of exceptions and Kyndryl-specific nuances, including information around SEO, legal marketing considerations and commonly used words.

A few lesser-known Kyndryl style rules

The oxford comma:

Avoid using the Oxford comma (also known as the serial comma) unless necessary for clarity. This is often the case in longer sentences where individual items in a list include “and” or “or.”

Sentence-case headings:

Only capitalize the first word and all proper nouns or abbreviations within your headline; all other words should be lowercase.
Example: Sources say ‘News Beat is always in style’
